Breakfast and After School Club (The Nest)

The Nest is our wonderful wraparound care service, available to all children at Dodford First School. We aim to provide a warm, welcoming and nurturing environment where children can feel happy, safe and supported before and after the school day. Our Breakfast Club opens its doors at 7.30am, Monday to Friday, offering children a delicious breakfast and a relaxed, positive start to their morning. With plenty of opportunities for fun, friendship and play, The Nest provides a fantastic way for children to begin their day, helping them feel settled and ready for the exciting learning opportunities ahead.

After the school day has finished, The Nest opens again, offering families two flexible sessions to suit their needs. Our shorter session runs from 3.15pm to 4.15pm, Monday to Friday, while our extended session runs from 3.15pm to 6.00pm, Monday to Thursday, and includes a snack. During their time at The Nest, children have access to our school hall, playground and field, providing plenty of space to explore, play and enjoy a variety of engaging activities. Whether children prefer creative activities, outdoor adventures, imaginative play or simply spending time with their friends, there is something for everyone to enjoy. Our aim is to create a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere where children can unwind after a busy school day, develop friendships and have fun.

The Nest is supported by our wonderful and creative playworkers, Jasmin and Dawn.

Jasmin and Dawn bring extensive experience and expertise in working with children. Their caring and enthusiastic approach ensures that every child feels included, valued and supported, with activities and opportunities that encourage creativity, independence and positive relationships. We understand how important it is for families to have access to reliable, high-quality wraparound care, and The Nest provides a familiar and friendly setting where children can continue to thrive beyond the classroom. All children must be registered in advance to attend The Nest.
